Choir Music

I’m getting a little tired of listening to choir music. There’s only so much a Pope can take.

I appreciate their efforts, but I’m beginning to abhor choirs, especially when they sing: “Tu es Petrus.”

It reminds me of when that Counting Crows song, “Mr. Jones” was released. It’s a great song, but the radio played it over and over again to the point that I couldn’t stand it anymore.

Too much of a good thing . . .

Your Holiness,

I can send you my CD of The Best of the Moody Blues. You seem a little down lately.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Your Holiness. Why not take off all those heavy holy garments, kick back and relax with a U2 CD. John Paul II sure liked Bono.

Counting Crowes must die! Just like Handel ... let it go, play something else!

Your Holiness,
If you like country and western music you could get a change from the choir music. Liking Rock and Roll would hurt either.

No kidding, your Holiness! But at least it's not as bad as that "My Humps" song. I hate that thing.

You could get them to sing "When God Made Me" by Neil Young, but of course this is yet another example of my ongoing lobbying to get Neil Young songs into the repertoire. Your illustrious predecessor could wallpaper his library with my letters to him every year asking him to let them sing "Star of Bethlehem" at Christmas Eve Mass.

Isn't there some older stuff that could be dragged out of mothballs, blow the dust off and surprise everyone?
